School Magazine (Preliminary Task) Proposal

My photograph will be of a sixth form male holding up an apprenticeship guide, they will be looking like they are interested in it. He will be wearing casual clothing, look intelligent and up to date with fashion.
The representation is of all the pupils in the secondary school, this will be depicted by captions that could say things like “HOMEWORK CLUB: MONDAY MORNINGS 8.00-9.00. OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS!!” This portrays that all pupils and not just the ones in sixth form will be interested in the magazine. Also it’ll be representing school because it’ll offer free things inside the magazine such as a pencil case.

It will be known by brand identity from the title which will have a academic and smart font, it will have large bold writing in capitals and the title will be “NEW SCHOOL” this will give the readers a modern and up-to-date feel about the magazine because of the “NEW”. It will also appeal to the new children in year 7, it will offer the feeling of a new environment and vibe, now that they are taking a big step up from primary school, they’ll need as much support as possible.

It will have a yellow and white background which represents quiet feminine colours but the entire font will be black and dark blue and they are strong, bold colours so people will be able to tell that it is a uni-sex magazine, there will be a good mixture of colours throughout, which will attract all pupils from the school. The genre is a school magazine which will give explicit detail about what pupils require for the new school year, uniform, lesson equipment etc. Also included is what to do if problems occur, from everything such as dealing with bullies to help getting up in the morning.

My target audience will be aimed at every single pupil in the school so it’ll cover a whole variety of things. It will offer details on what is on after school, clubs in which sporting activities are available and will give days, times and who to see to get additional information. It will also offer older pupils help with their C.V. writing and a list of options of the subjects that we offer, ranging from GCSE choices, A-level choices and a whole section on the apprenticeships we offer. If sixth formers require opportunities for part time work, it will offer a list of jobs and where they are located in the surrounding area.

All of the things just listed will hopefully lure pupils in to get this magazine because it looks attractive and offers a massive variety of things for every single pupil experiencing the school life and will be the "go to" guide for everything to do with school.
